Soft to touch, these vintage fabrics bring a cosy vibe to winter sewing. Their surfaces are very slightly brushed creating a warm material to take us through to Spring. Each fabric has a burst of colour to brighten up our makes. Being vintage, I can’t guarantee their fibre content. They are estimated to be cotton based on a burn test, plus their look and drape. FABRIC SWAP UPDATE*** I can’t tell you how happy I am with today’s fabric swap! A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a fun day! A fabric swap only works with lots of great sewists joining in 🧵😁thanks for sharing the event on socials. I’m all set up for my first #destashfabricswap with @londonstitchersmeetup - I’m embarrassed to say all of this fabric is mine, well bought and donated from other people. It is all vintage fabric! It feels good to have a destash and know it will get used by others #fabricswap A few details for my fabric swap today - what to bring and how it works. Full video over on my YouTube channel and on the eventbrite page. Fabric swap is today! 11am to 3pm. There is still time to come along, more details below.... Come along to my fabric destash this Saturday in London Docklands. It is free if you have items to swap and £3 if you don't. Register via Eventbrite so I know you are coming. Here is how it works! full details on the Eventbrite page and my blog (link in bio) Ok, so you have gone through the tricky process of destashing - now where to get rid of the fabrics and haberdashery that you don't want? Whenever I have a detash of anything; clothes, mementos or fabric, it is emotional! It sounds trivial but if you have ever had a good proper clear out you probably felt exhausted afterwards. Especially things like fabric, haberdashery and sewing supplies as we have the passion for our sewing. They might be items that you have inherited from your nan or auntie. A friend gave them to you or perhaps you bought during a fun day out fabric shopping and the fabric reminds you of a great day. There are some things I couldn't bare to part with, such as my Nanna Mary's sewing basket.
