Beginners sewing workshop: Learn to make a skirt from vintage fabric in one day. Price includes:

  • Length of vintage fabric: This option is a white cotton with tiny blue turquoise flowers. It is light weight and will drape nicely.
  • Tilly & The Buttons Dominique Pattern – we are making the straight short skirt with an elastic waist.
  • Elastic, thread and use of sewing equipment for the day
  • Guidance and top tips from Sarah Richards to help you make your skirt.

I’ve selected fabrics that are the correct texture and weight for the Dominique Tilly & The Buttons Skirt. The fabric will be washed and ironed, ready for you when you arrive at the workshop. Along with everything required for you to make your very own skirt.

1.5m of fabric is required for the Dominique straight skirt style. The vintage fabrics that I source are unique and individual pieces. I often only have 1 to 2 metres of each design. Using pre-loved and vintage fabrics is a sustainable way to sew. Reusing textiles that would otherwise end up in landfill.
